The grievors grieved their employer’s decision to stop paying them a shift premium – they worked from 4:10 a.m. to 12:10 p.m., with a one-half-hour lunch break starting at 8:00 a.m. – their collective agreement provided that “[a]n employee working on shifts, half or more of the hours of which are regularly scheduled between four (4) p.m. and eight (8) a.m., will receive a shift premium ... for all hours worked ... between four (4) p.m. and eight (8) a.m...” – the adjudicator found that the grievors’ shift included their meal break – never was half or more of their shift scheduled between 4 p.m. and 8 a.m.
